Adani Group: The Adani Group, a renowned conglomerate with interests in energy, infrastructure, logistics, and real estate, is among the major players investing in Dholera. Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani on Wednesday announced Rs 80,000 crore investment in ports, power sector and infrastructure in Gujarat at the fifth edition of Vibrant Gujarat Summit (VGS) in Gandhinagar .
He, however, did not specify the timeline for the investments.
On the occasion of VGS, we announce an investment of more than Rs 80,000 crore in port, power generation and infrastructure in Gujarat," Adani said, while speaking at VGS.

While two new ports - one each at Hazira and Dholera - are being developed, we are also expanding the existing ports at Mundra and Dahej. With this, we have a goal to create 200 million tonnes per annum of port handling capacity by the year 2015," he said.
In power generation while we have commissioned 2,000 megawatt at Mundra, additional 2,600 megawatt will be commissioned by March 2012. Further, we are also building 3,300 megawatt at Bhadreshwar in Kutch, 600 megawatt at Dahej and 4,000 megawatt at Dholera SIR," Adani said adding all the above power plants shall be completed to create a capacity of 15,000 megawatt by 2015.
As an integrated infrastructure conglomerate, we are also developing LNG terminal, infrastructure parks, supporting railway lines and supporting facilities," Adani said.
Projects of more than Rs 35,000 crore, for which we had signed MoUs at the time of Vibrant Gujarat Summit in 2007 and 2009, have been realised," he added.

Tata Group

Tata Group which is setting up India’s first aircraft manufacturing facility in Vadodara through a consortium with European aviation major Airbus has plans to further expand its base in the aerospace sector in Gujarat.
The group will set up a large-scale aerospace manufacturing facility in Dholera near Ahmedabad, said N Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons, during the foundation stone laying ceremony for setting up a facility to manufacture C-295 aircraft.
Tata Group in addition to establishing the facility here in Vadodara will also establish a very large-scale aerospace and high-tech manufacturing facility in Dholera when the facility becomes available. The expansion will happen in Dholera,”he said.

Today, we mark the beginning of full-scale aircraft manufacturing in India by the private sector. In its true essence, it conveys ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ vision of our prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said after PM Narendra Modi laid the foundation for the manufacturing unit.
The final assembly line for the C-295 aircraft will undertake aircraft manufacturing and assembly and will deliver mission-ready aircraft in transport configuration, equipped with an indigenous electronic warfare suite to IAF. “This project was conceived ten years ago by rattan Tata and he led this whole concept and built a relationship with Airbus and forged a partnership. I must thank him for his leadership by leading from the front. It has taken ten years to become a reality,” he said.
Talking about the facility in Vadodara, he said the facility will manufacture C-295 aircraft, which are essentially transport aircraft, that have the capability of operating from short and very unprepared airstrips.
The aircraft is for practical transport of up to 71 troops or 50 para troops and for logistic operations into regions which heavier aircraft cannot access,” he said.
The c-295 can also airdrop paratroopers and loads and evacuate medical casualties. The aircraft that we will manufacture will be done by tata Advanced Systems, a Tata Group company, and we will make 40 such aircraft out of a total order of 56 such aircraft here in Gujarat,” he said.
The aircraft manufacturing programme will see Airbus bring its complete bouquet of aircraft manufacturing and service to India.” In collaboration with the tata Group but also with public sector units like Bharat Electronics Limited and Bharat Dynamics Limited. In all it will produce at least 15,000 skilled jobs,” he said “There is also a substantial global demand and I definitely see exports being another big opportunity in not-so-distant future,” he said, recalling the group’s strong presence in Gujarat.

Real estate and infrastructure development arm of Mahindra Group Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd. said it had signed two memorandum of understanding with the Gujarat Government at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit on Wednesday.

The first MoU was for the development of an Integrated Business City in the Mahindra World City format at Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), located in the upcoming Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor, involving an investment of Rs.2,000 crore. It can create employment for over 100,000 persons, when fully operational, and will attract investments in excess of Rs.10,000 crore.
The second MoU was for the development of a high quality and professionally managed industrial park, located close to an existing industrial/commercial centre near Ahmedabad. It will cater to the infrastructure needs of Indian and international companies in Gujarat. The park, when fully developed, will create around 25,000 jobs and attract over Rs.1,000 crore of investment, the company said.

A joint venture of Indian conglomerate Vedanta and electronics manufacturing giant Foxconn has finalized the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) near Ahmedabad city of Gujarat for setting up their semiconductor and display manufacturing facility, a senior state government official said on Monday (February 20).
In the biggest-ever corporate investment in the history of independent India, a joint venture of Vedanta and Foxconn in September last year signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat government to invest ₹1,54,000 crores to set up the plant in the state. This will be the first manufacturing facility for semiconductors in India.
At that time, the joint venture company had not disclosed the exact location of the facility. “After a detailed site analysis in consultation with Gujarat government authorities, the joint venture entity of Vedanta and Foxconn has selected Dholera SIR for setting up their semiconductor and display-manufacturing facility. The project is in the advanced stage of evaluation by the government of India,” the official said.

Suzlon Group signs MoU with Gujarat Government to develop 1,000 MW of wind power

Gandhinagar/Pune: Suzlon Group, the world?s third leading* wind power company, announced a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to develop 1,000 megawatt (MW) of new wind power capacity in the state over the next three years
The MoU covers the development of new capacity in windfarms across the state, with development planned in the districts of Saurashtra, Kutch and other parts of Gujarat. The MoU was signed under the auspices of the fifth biennial Vibrant Gujarat conference.

Suzlon Group has actively participated in Vibrant Gujarat, since its inception in 2003. Over the past five conferences, Suzlon has signed six MoU?s with the Government of Gujarat, committing over Rs. 14,000 crore (USD 3.1 bn) for the development of wind farm projects, R&D centers, manufacturing facilities and in a Special Economic Zone (SEZ). The Company has already delivered 60 per cent of the promised development, translating into investments of Rs. 8,400 crore (USD 1.9 bn) in the state.
Gujarat offers the largest wind potential in the country. Currently, Suzlon has over 1,100 MW of installations across Kutch, Porbandar, Rajkot and Bhavnagar districts of Gujarat. The windpark in Kutch is one of the largest in Asia with installations of over 800 MW and growing. This capacity translates to over 850 wind turbines installed for over 256 customers, producing enough green and clean energy to power nearly 880,000 Indian households. The favorable policy regime in the state has facilitated this rapid growth and enabled Suzlon to bring in investments by various national players like ONGC, Indian Oil, State Bank of India, DLF, Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation, and leading state PSUs like Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation and Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals.
